Boy Scouts of America: Silver Beaver Award

Melaleuca Awarded 2008 Silver Beaver Award by The Boy Scouts of America

The Grand Teton Council awarded Frank VanderSloot the Silver Beaver, the highest national honor it can bestow, for his significant contribution to area scouting. Over a period of almost two decades, Frank has committed his time, his talents, his home, his resources and his finances to lend a hand to local scout programs and operations, particularly the Scouting For Food campaign, an annual food drive run by Scouts of Southeast Idaho and Western Wyoming.

“Scouting For Food in the Grand Teton Council would not have been the same without the generous support of [Frank VanderSloot],” read the award announcement. “Scouting is lucky to have had Frank involved in the Grand Teton Council and supporting its programs.”

Frank has supported scouting programs for years as a leader and as a father to young scouts. He believes that Scouting equips young men with vital life skills, beautifies the country, provides services that aid people in need and builds lifelong friendships.
